“Robert’s (the founder + lead designer) instinctive feel for furniture and interior design was born of his North Carolina roots and university studies in Fine Arts. For years, he traveled the globe honing his design aesthetic and skills, all the while importing Asian furnishings and home décor for sale in the states.
In 2007 he founded Urban Colony, a retail and To-the-Trade home furnishings showroom in Los Angeles – which also served as genesis to Robert’s numerous fine interior design projects in the area. But from the outset, he was faced with the perpetual challenge of sourcing quality, fairly-priced upholstered furniture that could be manufactured and delivered in a timely manner.
Ultimately, Robert launched his own solution in Black Label Home, and now dedicates his time solely to his passion of building quality – both in his furnishings, and in his business.”

Robert is a child of the furniture industry; he knows his upholstery! From commercial to residential, bench made upholstery is what BLH specializes in. We often customize the sit of upholstery for a client. I have a couple pieces from them and its our favorite sectionals in the house – everyone in my family fights for the chaise seat – lol!
